I am a UK Council of Psychotherapy accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy).
Prior to my professional training as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist I worked in the medical film industry and later in the prison service. I have also worked for the charities, Sane, Aricas which helps those in violent relationships and more recently at the House of St Barnabas Soho, in London who helps the disadvantaged and homeless.
It is my aim to discover the root of a client's difficulties using a dual approach. That is, psychodynamic (or traditional therapy) in order to understand what drives the current feelings and behaviour and cognitive to retrain any faulty thinking which can fuel our distress.
A countryside lover I enjoy spending my free time exploring the area with my labradoodle, Paddy who has recently been accepted as a therapy pet and will soon be accompanying me on visits to Care Homes, Hospices and Schools.
If you'd like a visit from Paddy please contact me to discuss.
As a professional member of the UK Council of Psychotherapy and BACP, I am bound by their code of ethics and am committed to my continuous professional development.
